Throughput
In the book Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser, he talks about the labor practices of these fast food businesses. He mentions that these businesses have a high "throughput' rate. I believe that throughput is the amount of work/goods a business can produce. In the book he says that a small amount of people can produce a massive amount of goods for a business. Since these businesses produce a lot of goods, they can send out the goods to the businesses. The faster the throughput is the happier we are.
Hi, check your definition of throughput against the one in the book. Also, the last line here baffles me, considering the examples the book provides.
ReplyDeleteHi Amber, your post was good overall. However I think it would improve your post if you extended this post by using examples from the book as Professor JRC suggests. The last couple of sentences defines the word "throughput." But the last sentence confused me given the fact that the producers would be happy much more than the consumer. Less workers and more supply is less money spent on the corporate side. They would be much happier than the consumers in this money-matter. Overall solid definition Amber.
